Looking for Admins

To be honest, I don't know if anyone is really going to care or even show interest in wanting to read this journal entry. I know a decent few of my friends actually pay attention to my journals and such. But...well, who knows? I'm still going to submit this journal and see what results I get.

So here's the deal: as most of you probably already know, I've created a new Pokemon group called :iconunova-quest:Unova-Quest:iconunova-quest:. This is not really all that big a deal. For the most part it is sort of still under construction in terms of us admins really being able to have our own apps finished and being able to roleplay in the group, ourselves, but it is open for members to join and roleplay in, themselves.

The thing is, though, the group does need more admins. More than :iconmyo-senpai: and myself. Admins who are not afraid to help keep the group alive and active if Myo-Senpai or myself are not able to. The group does technically need help...WE need help. It cannot solely ride on our shoulders the entire time the group is up. This is part of the reason why the original group, :iconpokemon-oc-shipping:Pokemon-OC-Shipping:iconpokemon-oc-shipping: died... Because admins who I was relying on did not keep up their end of the bargain whenever I essentially could not be there to hold the group up. I need reliable people to help both Myo and myself when either of us cannot be there to keep the group afloat.

My group is not strict on activity. Chances are, members are either only going to be submitting art about their character or roleplaying with other members anywhere other than the dA chatroom(s) that were created for the group. So the group chat might not really see too much activity. What we need from members is to help keep a steady flow of art coming into the group, finding potential members to join the group, voting "yes/no" for people trying to join the group, helping soon-to-be members with their app if they are confused or can't draw, editing certain things in journals and the widgets of the group, making new journals whenever an event/contest/challenge is thought up but Myo nor myself are around to post the journal about it, monitoring the group chats at least to make sure that members are following the rules (although to make that more bearable, we do suggest RPing with anyone who's in the chatrooms as you monitor), and really anything else you'd expect an admin to do in terms of keeping a group alive.

And please do not say that you wish to be an admin, and then because you feel the group is "inactive", you later say that you're leaving. First of all, the group is LITERALLY just starting. There's not going to be much activity except for admins playing with the widgets of the group and making the group look "pretty" for the members and potential members to hold interest. So the group is definitely going to appear dead for a while until members start coming in. Then, also keep in mind of how the group's activity is working. Unless a member is submitting daily life artwork, memes, character applications, or event/contest/challenge artwork, there's probably not going to be a whole lot of activity in the dA chatroom simply because most of the members on dA don't like using the dA chatrooms to roleplay. They might instead prefer to roleplay on Skype, or google docs, or anywhere other than the dA chatrooms. Which is perfectly fine and acceptable. Secondly, when you say you'll take up the gauntlet of being an admin, and then suddenly say you're leaving due to inactivity in the group, it puts a ton of stress on the other admins who are in the group. (Especially the Founder if they're the only other admin trying to pick up the slack.) It's understandable if life starts getting in the way, so you have to make a choice and you choose to fix your life instead of keeping the group going. It's a completely different situation if you say it's because of inactivity. Part of the reason why it might be "inactive" to you is because you, yourself, are not doing what you should be as an admin and keeping the group afloat when the other admins cannot be there to do it. It's part of why you are there as an admin in the first place. To make sure that doesn't happen, and if it does start to seem that way, you're supposed to try and make the group seem less inactive and more alive. So no quitting half way. Lift your weight, and do your part, please.

We have several slots open for both co-founders and contributors open if you wish to pick up the gauntlet and help make the group better and become more active. I am not putting a limit on how many admins there can be. If you wish to help, I will gladly accept it. I can only write and Myo is so far the only one who can draw. So more artists who can draw would be greatly appreciated. Please leave a comment either on my profile, on Myo's profile, or on this journal if you would like to be an admin for UQ. Myo or I will send you an invite in the admin slot of your choice if you let either of us know. (And please do show some patience if you do submit this comment. We do have lives, too.XD)

Groups don't start out awesome. They are built that way over time. Think of a group as a child. When you first create it, you've given birth to it. At the beginning, it's in the stages where it needs its admins the most. Helping it to develop and grow. When the first members start joining, that's when it's taking its first steps and learning how to walk. It will take time before the group stops stumbling over itself and becomes the awesome group all of us admins hope it will one day become. But if we give up before it gets there, then how will it ever become this magnificent thing we want it to be in the future? Please keep this in mind when you read this journal and are making the choice on whether or not you want to join as an admin to help make the group better and more fun for everyone.

Thank you for reading this journal entry. Have a good day/night/whatever~!:iconsparklyroseplz:

Hey Elder :>
I am always happy to help! However, there are two problems:
1) I know nothing about pokemon
2) I am fairly busy with life and school work OTL (eg: this week is a holiday yay! Buuuut we're getting a new puppy tomorrow, so I have to help out there, and over the course of this week I have two pieces of music to learn, two coursework drafts to write, one synoptic essay, another draft of my personal statement to write, a whole load of formulae to learn, PPE's to revise for and a shit ton of homework, as well as the fact my grandma is coming over from Italy and I have to travel up and down between the coast and London all week because of family hospital appointments, more generalised revision, and I wanna play Sims, which I haven't in ages =w= )

I'm happy to be an admin, and I would be able to reply to general comments, vote on stuff, write journals and help out where I can--
But I wouldn't have that much time for drawing things (I CAN, but there would be quite a wait of at least a week, if you're okay with that) and I probably wouldn't make a character, I would just admin (at least until I read up on the pokemon universe, ehe)

If you're okay with that, I'm up for helping out!
